St. Philips Episcopal Church Pompano Beach was started in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Forbes in 1932. Mission was to be Faithful to God. The Rector was The Reverend Q. E. Primo. Hard work from dedicated parishioners and donations from local town farmers presented them with the opportunity to purchase land. This is how the first building was constructed. The parish outgrew this building and sold the site. This led to the purchase of the present location. The mission of the church has never changed. Our Mission continues to be Faithful to Christ. We worship every Sunday at 9:00 am. The Rev. Deacon Kenneth Simms, Supply Clergy; Lonette Avery, Senior Warden; Arthur McDonald, acting Junior Warden; Mae Lamey, Treasurer; Edith Harvey, Secretary. This parish has taken on homeless as a mission project from conception. This continues to be a large part of this church ministry today.

From its earliest beginnings, St. Philip’s has embraced ministry to the homeless as a core expression of our faith. This commitment remains a central part of our identity and service today. Through compassion, outreach, and practical support, we continue to extend Christ’s love to those in need within our community.
